Buffalo added more jobs than 87% of U.S. cities over the past year, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Erie and Niagara counties jointly added 2,100 jobs between September 2007 and September 2008, putting us in 40th place among 310 U.S. metro areas.

Buffalostyle, Christina Abt's new radio talk show on life in Buffalo and WNY, will debut on Hometown 1230AM WECK Radio Saturday, October 18, at 9:00 a.m. Buffalostyle Talk Radio actually started in 2007, when Abt broadcast more than 20 shows on the WNY Media Internet website. Guests ranged from JoAnn Falletta, Donna Fernandes, Amherst,Town Board Candidate Roy Wixson, A and E Cable Network Matchmaker Patti Novak and Family Court Judge Lisa Block Rodwin, to a conservationist specializing in straw buildings, a mom in need of round the clock nurses for her newborn son and a quartet of award-winning Williamsville high school musicians. WNY musicians round out her Buffalostyle programming. Each week she will feature cuts from WNY musical talents and talk about their local play dates and where listeners can buy their music. "I realize that the people of this community are exceptional in their spirit and their willingness to join together for most any cause," she says.
