Buffalo Scores a Hat Trick — Three of the 22 Hottest New Production Facilities in the World are in Buffalo! Mix Magazine, the leading professional audio and music production industry publication in the country, published its highly respected list of the 22 hottest new production facilities and live venues in the WORLD this week. Not one, not two, but THREE (of just 22 worldwide) are in Buffalo! This might be considered a rather unique type of Hat Trick! The Inner Machine , the Goo Goo Doll¹s studio, is Mix¹s cover story! The tale of how Robby Tacak and John Rzeznik have restored the studio they built 30 years ago to meet 21st century specifications is a metaphor for Buffalo’s preservation, restoration and reuse efforts and it emerges once again as a world class city.  Eastco’s California Road Studios in Orchard Park. These guys invested $1 million in this unbelievable facility, lovingly hand-built by the renowned Larry Swist. What really makes it unique is that it is for audio, video production and post-production for broadcast, corporate and entertainment – plus the fact that virtually NO ONE knows it¹s there. Just another one of Buffalo’s hidden gems.Â
HSBC Arena is the third facility, named for its sound design as a live venue. This puts it in a different category than Inner Machine and California Road, but the recent extensive enhancements made during the past season are apparently world class – it now numbers among the top 22 new facilities in the world!
This recognition of such a wealth of world class production facilities in our fair city positions Buffalo very well to capture far more of the national and international market of this lucrative industry – which translates into jobs, opportunity and economic development.
